The bookcase together with ‘Stephen’s desk’ and ‘Lotte’ the oval cabinet, all reside in a dressing room which also included a fitted wardrobe. Therefore, a singularity in style needed to be achieved. I chose to pursue a conservative theme, like I had with the desk, using English walnut, solid and sawcut veneer, burr walnut door panels crossbanded in French walnut. The upper and lower pilasters were reeded in a convex fashion. The devil was in the detail but the walnut spoke for itself.
