An expressionist coffee table in figured sycamore bordered with English field maple. The ‘pumpkin’ feet stained red and blue in the ‘Scribbled’ turnings. Theory? Fat and thin when close coupled do not always provide a happy union. The brief I set myself was to invent a visual, if eccentric, balance. Shown at the exhibition of contemporary furniture ‘Private Parts’ at Rook Lane Chapel, Frome in 2005.
