Dubbed ‘Hong Kong’ because that was their destination. I was given a very rough photograph taken of one (the only one in existence) residing in a Paris antique shop. Apparently designed in the 1940s (designer unknown). A pair were needed and could I copy from the photo? To do this I had to completely redevelop the whole chair, including the dimensions. A table was also required. I constructed both table and chairs from American black walnut. The tabletop and shelf were laminated sawcut veneer on birch substrate to give stability. Much relieved when completed. I was complimented on their superiority to the original.
